Here's a list of *most* of the known A. Sax saxophones still extant. With links, info and pics.
There are a couple of websites out there that have attempted to track Antoine-Joseph and Adolphe-Edouard Sax instruments. The problems with them are a) they're missing quite a few saxophones and b) they generally don't have pictures. I, therefore, proposed to start a project to update the lists.
Date of manufacture is either determined from source material at

HERE) or from the website they came from.
I'm also trying to track the LOCATION engraved (e.g. "50 Rue St. Georges") and other "main" ENGRAVING, as this can accurately give you a date range your horn was made in, if all other engraving is missing or the horn doesn't have a date engraved.
Here are some French phrases you'll see and their translations:
Fteur de la Mson Milre de l'Empereur = "Maker of the Emperor's military instruments"
Fournisseur de l'Académie Nle de Musique = "Supplier for the Music Academy"
Fteur de l'Académie Nle de Musique = "Maker for the Music Academy"
breveté = "patented"
Sib = "Bb"
Mib = "Eb"
There actually is an F ("Fa") alto, as well. I don't know if I'll be able to find pictures online.
One other quick note: I appended a zero to some of the serial numbers (e.g. "06437"), so the sorting for this section would work. These horns do not have the extra zero engraved.
